This Top photo

The top photo, on my blog, is a tribute to my Uncle. It was about this time, 3 years ago, he disappeared. He was hunting, In NFLD, in familiar territory, when he just vanished. Noone knew what happened, but his quad and birds, he shot, were found. For almost 2 years, people searched for him, including my dad, who flew from AB to NFLD 2x to look.
Then, my Dad's cousins, were hunting, and saw something. A rifle, just standing alone. They went near it, and then saw some clothing. It was him. He must have had a heart attack, and lied down in the grass. Finally, my family could have closer, especially my Aunt and her children.
My dad said, that they were no more than a yards away, from him, but never saw his body, on their searches. Its rough, bushy terrain, and they just didnt see him.
So the cross, and rocky grave, are his memorial..... rest in Peace ..Uncle Willard

Winter... love and hate

I can not believe its been so long since I have done any writing. I guess the trip was such a hilight , for me, I just have not been back to my blog. Now winter has settled in, with snow and temps, far below normal. Today, is cool but one of those winter days, you just want to be playing in the snow. I started with a nice walk, then some shovelling , then some snow angels.. Yes snow angels, I made them and just gazed up at the clouds and blue sky. Laying in the snow, brought back a flood of memories, from my childhood, and from when my own kids were young. I fogot what snow feels like under your body, and how peaceful it all can be. I guess we all need to take a moment or two, and go back to those times, that we have forgotten about. Afterall, they make up our very being.

Um.. Pathetic is all I can say. It has been way too long...

Honestly I have no idea where the time goes. You would think, because I only work a day or two, a week, I would have all sorts of time to myself. It never seems to work out that way though, things creep up on me every day. The next thing I know, the kids are home. Today, I am home, sick, with a throat infection, so today I decided to start writing again. I will also try to finish up, my photo albums, and make some cards. What I wanted to be doing was go to the gym, to start 2010, fresh! But that is not going to happen for a few days, so here I sit.
2009 was a pretty good year, all in all. My family was well, and we had lots of good times together. Trips, to the U.S, Mexico, and skiing in the mountains. The kids seemed to enjoy them all. We are a very lucky family, to be able, to do these things. We also got a dog, Molly, who is finally settling into our lives. She is still only 9 months old, so she can be a bit naughty, but we love her lots. She really has become, my dog, which is not really surprising.

2010 what is in store for us, well noone knows for sure, but there will definatley be sports, and more travel. I am looking forward to another healthy year, of physical, mental and emotional growth, for my kids and myself.  Hope all my family and friends has wonderful start to 2010! Bring in on!
